A bridge to find a new world to explore
Not one just outside my front door
Some place far away, a simpler kind
Nothing to carry, a load off my mind
A bridge, to the warm heart of a land
To a country where there are no demands
Across the equator, and southern plain
Friendly people walking down the lane
In Africa, Malawi, holds these treasures
Landlocked, the lake so pure, a pleasure
Muli bwanji, is the way to say hello
Always extend a greeting, as you go
Happy people, grace this humble place
And surely bring a smile, to a hardened face

It wasnt first. It was somewhere in the middle on Amazon. And I read the descriptions and the pages in look-inside. I’m sure I will enjoy it 🙂

Such a lovely poem describing Malawi as it really is. The people are friendly and hospitable and visitors are welcomed with open arms. They call it the warm heart of Africa and it lives up to that. It’s a place I could live forever.
Sadly we are seeing more asylum seekers from Malawi because of the terrible impoverishment.

That breaks my heart. I pray they find peace in their hearts. I can’t even imagine. 😦

You would be surprised if you met them what an amazing faith they have. We had a gardener from Malawi who used to sing while he was cutting our grass…a dearly loved man who always said “God is good”!
