For Steve…
Then disappear before your eyes
I’m here today, then off I go
I know you’ve wondered why
Perhaps it’s meant to happen
Paving the way, for another bloom
Upon the stalk, that holds me up
Perchance, it needs more room
Though I am here to dazzle, it seems
For merely a day or two
My time here, is a short one
So I’ve blossomed, just for you

Funny…you’ve written so much. Yet, some stand out more than others. This is just…really quite beautiful.

Beautiful Dorinda! Here today, maybe tomorrow, but your poem takes it to a timeless dimension. Another bloom must follow! Thanks for brightening my day. I have some 🌺 images) we call them ‘papos’ here … maybe you’ll allow me to link to your poem one day?

I love your hibiscus poem. The hibiscus is one of the most fragile yet beautiful flower that exists.

I know I will. Stories inspire stories. Now I’m the uncle and a younger-than-us soul is watching me the way you observed your Uncle Fred. Growing up is, well … interesting in the 60’s then and the 10’s now. I know I will enjoy your stories. I look forward to Chapters 4, 9, 14, 16, 19, and 21 … maybe not in that order!
