It came down in buckets
While wind blew with rage
A sky filled with lightning
The storm, center stage
Her thunder was deafening
Couldn’t hear myself think
Why on Earth would nature
Put up such a stink
Sounds, like a freight train,
Roaring, past the door
The whole house is shaking
I can’t take anymore
Calmer days need take heed
She is mighty, riding the skies
A figure of destructive fury
She wears as an artful guise
The color of sunlight, so bright
She’ll shine her light, on a dare
Deceptive is she, quite willingly
Hiding in the clouds, elsewhere

I love this. I was thinking of writing a post about the sequences within a thunderstorm as well. It’s fascinating, right?

Oh yes, definitely write one about a thunderstorm!! I love them. I could sit and watch the lightning, and listen to the rumbling sky, for hours ❤

So could I! I used to be afraid of these storms, but something snapped in my brain a few years ago and now I love them.

I’ve always been fascinated by them. How on earth could the sky make noise like that? And then the light show! I think I never had a fear because my Dad always told me the rain was lemonade and the lightning was made by angels turning the lights on and off. As for the rumbling of thunder…well, that was God, of course, shooting a heck of a bowling game!
