It started out quite innocently
A conversation they had over dinner
Nothing was said nicely, nor eloquently
And no one would come out the winner
Name calling commenced, round the table
It got uglier as time went on
Each one got their own special label
The lines in the sands, had been drawn
Back and forth, it went for hours
Until hunger won out, and they ate
The next day, the misses got flowers
The next day, was one day too late

This is a chronology of the last week of my winter friend. Winter was splendid, spring not. She has left a sad spot in my heart. Oh well this is life.

Thank you so very much, Megha! Would it help your heart to know that it was actually quite comical and there was no real anger involved? The poem is based off a silly conversation between my husband, daughter, and me. just took it the other way 🙂

Based on an actual conversation, which was more light-hearted than anything. My daughter called me rude, and I said I was in a rude mood. Both hubby and she said, “there’s a poem in there” and so it was born LOL
