How sad, the pile of sugar cane
That fell like drops of heavy rain
Blocks of white, what a sight!
Here we go again!
It happens every time, I fear
They never make it to my cup
I open up the sugar bowl
Miss, then have to tidy up
I keep an endless supply
I really don’t know why
I’m diabetic, but quite ascetic
Of this, I can’t deny
I hope one day, dear Stevia
You’ll come in my favorite shape
But until then, I surrender to
The sugar cube, my great escape
