He was cool about it, almost demanding. She was on fire. She knew the answer had to be no. She also knew he wouldn’t accept it. Blazing blue eyes stared back at her. With a slight smirk on his lips, he waited, hoping for the perfect answer.
He sighed, began to walk away, and then stopped. He turned his head just enough to catch her face scrunched up, eyes closed, wringing her palms. Was she having second thoughts? He wasn’t about to wait to find out. He walked back to her, and held out his hand.
This time she didn’t say no.
