My eyes are blurred, in pastel pink
I think I’ve had too much to drink
Nothing’s making any sense
Imagination, my self defense
With trickery, you change my vision
Enough to cause this indecision
Do I carry on, the way I am
Or sober up, with another gram
That brings my focus back in view
Though things remain, quite askew
Perhaps it’s best to sleep it off
Forget the drink, what was that quaff?
That made everything, before me, blurry
While time blew by me, in a hurry
With this, a bitter pill, to swallow
Is this the path I’m doomed to follow?

Love the blurry image, but I’m sad that there is so much sorrow in your words. Love, N

Yes, Natalie, sad indeed. My daughter has lost many friends to addiction and it breaks my heart. NJ JUST started a program for those struggling to get help. Should have happened years ago…
